I spot inspiring color palettes in urban areas for a lot of reasons. I love the way humans compose public spaces - there’s layers of life, indicators of time, haphazard drips of paint that act like a humans touch on creating something for everyone to experience. These are the things that interest me. These compel me. I love the different layering of color and how oxidization changes all of it and dirt, and weather, and careless passerby-ers all impact the visual statement. There’s so much that happens in these moments; tinged moments of fleeting love, transient synchronicity, poignant declarations, important moments of clarity. Somehow this all translates to the public canvas that finds itself on buildings, layered in paint and grit and oxidization. I marvel over all of this that could of happened while completely enamored with the playful color palette.
